Birth as a sequence you can prepare for

Push It Real Good is taught by Jennifer Robert, BSN, RN, ICCE, IBCLC, RLC. She brings over twenty years of nursing, labor and delivery, and NICU experience into a small-group class capped at three couples. Close enough that you can pick up the model pelvis, ask a real question, and get a real answer.

The class covers labor, delivery, and the early postpartum period as one continuous arc. The goal is for you to leave knowing what each stage looks like, what your real choices are, and how the first 24 hours after delivery typically unfold.

Labor and birth involve a sequence of physical events that are unfamiliar to most people going through them for the first time.

Understanding what is happening at each stage, what options exist, and how labor connects to the recovery period that follows changes how you move through it. Not because knowledge removes difficulty. Because it reduces the amount of attention spent trying to interpret what is happening, which leaves more available for actually moving through it.

This is a full-day, small-group class taught by an instructor with over 20 years of nursing, labor and delivery, and NICU experience. Sessions are capped at three couples. That keeps the class interactive and leaves time for questions specific to your situation, not just a standard curriculum.

The class covers labor, delivery, and the early postpartum period as a connected sequence. What happens during birth affects what the first 24 hours with your baby look like. Understanding both, in context, helps you prepare for the whole experience rather than just the delivery itself.

What families are saying

From past participants

★★★★★

“We took the childbirth prep class last week and were so glad we did. As first-time parents we have definitely been overwhelmed with all the information out there. This class gave us a good high-level overview of what to expect leading up to labor, during labor, and those first few weeks after birth. Jen was so great at breaking things down for us and answering any specific questions we had.”

★★★★★

“Bayou City Breastfeeding has been a game changer. I attended their childbirth class, had a prenatal lactation appointment, had appointments almost weekly after I had my son, and later had assistance with transitioning to pumping at work. Jen Roberts is supportive, encouraging, and so knowledgeable. I wouldn’t have been able to navigate this journey without Bayou City Breastfeeding.”
